This is my Zundapp Moped. I believe it is a 1953 or 1954 model.
The only real information I know about it is that it was purchased used
in 1963 in Germany by an American school teacher. He purchased it
for his son
to ride to school. When he returned to the U.S. in 1967, the moped
came with him.
Then it sat in a garage from 1967 until I acquired it in 1998. I
thought I was in for a challenge
when I tried to get it running, after all, it had been sitting for
32 years.
but all I had to do was replace the fuel line, fill it up with gas and
she
fired right up! It's great for running around the neighborhood and
everybody who sees it
wants to ride it. It came with the original paperwork and tool kit.
I plan to license it as an
antique when it turns 50 years old.
It has front springs, a sprung seat and a cool little
flag on the front fender.
Here is a similar Zundapp moped. This is a 1956 model owned
by Steve in the U.K.
These are interesting bikes. I don't know much about them so
if any of you have any information or pictures
to share, feel free to send
them to me.
